Loving Lately | February 2020

Ya know something? It’s fun having this little blog. It’s a space I put little to no pressure on, apart from having a goal to put a post up once a month, and I kind of ignore how many people do or don’t look at it. It’s refreshing to jot down a few thoughts and things that are inspiring me. I have a feeling this is what it felt like to be a blogger back in the day, before they became the machines they are today. Here’s a small batch of things I’ve been loving lately…

  1. It is Fashion Month, which means the fashion world is trotting around New York, London, Milan, & Paris and I get to stalk their street wear. I’ve loved doing this since I was a teen. I check in on a few fashion shows, but I’m mostly interested in how trends are being translated by the people on the streets. I’ll probably do a little round up blog post about the trends I’m seeing when it’s all over. If you’re interested Vogue & Harper’s Bazaar do great coverage :)

  2. The art of Chelsea Fly. I adore Chelsea’s work. Her landscapes are perfectly serene and moody.

  3. This color palette - see more color palette inspiration on my Pinterest

  4. Leanne Ford released a collection with Crate and Barrel, and I am just so proud of her! Is it strange to be proud of someone you’ve never met? I adore her perspectives on creativity and her design work. She’s also a Pittsburgh native like my hubby.

This canopy bed is a stunner and I’m eyeing this plastered side table, or one of these epic candles for our house. The creative branding/marketing done around the launch has been fun to watch as well. Bravo Leanne & team!

  5. These swivel lounge chairs were just delivered last week and I adore them!! Linking them here because I’m still behind on responding to dm’s asking where they’re from.

I like to curl up when I sit so I was looking for chairs with a low enough profile that they didn’t take up the whole room, but were also spacious enough and these fit the bill! They are slip covered in a jute fabric so they should be pretty stain-removal friendly.

  6. Wilson’s Grocery … if you’re local in Lexington I adore this charming little neighborhood grocer and the people running it! They just added seating so I’m making plans to have a lunch date with Keith this week :)

  7. I’ve been reading Aesthetic Intelligence by Pauline Brown over the past month or so after Julia Engel of Gal Meets Glam recommended it. I greatly respect the business Julia & her husband Thomas have built so I ordered it immediately. I would be typing far too much if I tried to go into it all, but know it gets my recommendation as well!

  8. I like to watch makeup and hair tutorials sometimes to relax… Unless my husband is around, because he makes fun of me ;) Rosie Huntington-Whitely’s channel is always a favorite and this one she did with Stormi Bree was lovely. Love that they’re both mommas too!

Happy Monday! I hope you are having a great start to your week.

xo, Mel
