These boards have been so beneficial in continuing to discover my own style and what I find interesting. I can see a significant change in the confidence I have in my own eye and style. I am constantly trying to create as true to myself as I possibly can, and watching what I'm drawn to has helped define my own style even more than I thought it would!

This quote from Steal Like an Artist by Austin Kleon nailed it for me:

"Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic." - Jim Jarmusch

This month I've basically been drawn to anything that reminds me of sorbet. Probably because I've been dreaming, shopping, and looking at AirBnb's for our upcoming trip to Italy!

1. Culottes are mah fave for Spring. I wore a pair the other day and got asked if they were a skirt or pants. Which is fair! Because they are designed that way. Google definition: women's knee-length trousers, cut with very full legs to resemble a skirt. If you aren't already seeing these everywhere... you will be! Scan this page on ASOS.com to see how versatile they can be in both design and function. Source: Glamour Forum

2. Cute little illo I like. Source: Unknown

3. I maybe own 2 yellow items... but something about this peachy yellow made me want to use it it a painting. And find it in a dress. Source: Urban Outfitters

4. These 3 colors together have been catching my eye a lot. Taupe, blush/peach, and rose. I think we'll see these a lot in beauty & fashion this year. Urban Outfitters Blog

5. Agh, I've felt a little extra unqualified to be an artist this month. And have not been creating just for myself lately. I need to listen to Mr. Van Gogh a bit more often. Source: Unknown

6. The same colors I'm loving from image 4, applied in fine art & stationary. Kaela Rawson

1. I like how the sage was mixed in with the sorbet colors! I'm still working on this ceramics collaboration as well, so I'm more and more impressed with them! Source: This is Paper

2. Good question. Source: Free People Twitter #fpwritethisdown

3. I want that skirt. And I like her pose :) Source: A Reasonably Dressed Woman Tumblr

4. Once again, messy and carefree. I respect art like this a lot because I imagine whoever created it must not be a perfectionist. And can appreciate it for where they left it. It's beautiful! But not overdone in the slightest. It reminds me of childhood. Source: Jenn Wren

5. I like the messy carefree brush strokes. You can buy a print of this one! Source: Hotel Magique

6. I like a nice bright nude. This one has some of those yellow hues I'm liking. Source: Pantone

What do you do to draw inspiration? I love hearing new ideas!
